Whew. I have way more studies than I can post this time, so here are some painting progression for two of three pieces to be finished before Christmas. Family gifts- I hope they don't look at it. I don't think they will.

And, for the sketches below I'd really like to thank professional wrestler, Batista... for walking like a badass.

Some folks over at Conceptart.org convinced me to re-work my cyclops (plus I convinced myself). It wasn't going anywhere and I was in a slump because of it. I'd lost a challenge twice that I'd put on myself twice. So, this time I'm still not giving up, but I'm thinking about things BEFORE I start painting, not while. The last one was just not working for me... and if I'd finished it I would have put it in my portfolio- I don't think it was good enough anyway.

So, here (and the post below) are the re-workings of my cyclops piece.

I've got one more to post, so I'll put my comments up top.

Good God I'm working a ton. I'm working so many hours between two jobs right now. Here's an update on the old cyclops. Allie thought I was close earlier... haha. No way. This guy is gonna take a bit, and I've got such little time. MUST PAINT FASTER.

And another cyclops work in progress. This one will be better than the other ones...

It must be! I've been looking at the late Frazetta trying to understand how he does his separation of light and dark and his shadow shapes.

Lots of day job work. I've been kind of lazy, too. Need to stop that!

Snuck in some sketches. Well, two. Not using that space marine necessarily, but working on some preliminary stuff for a big space marine painting. Feet from Hogarth:
